Cheese & Cutting Boards

Mein lieber Mann hat ein tolles Hobby, er arbeitet gerne mit Holz und stellt im Moment wunderschoene Schneidebretter her. Hier einige Beispiele.

Ich war letzte Woche kinderlos da sie Ferien bei ihrer Tante gemacht haben, und habe davon profitiert mit zwei Freundinnen zum Kayak fahren zu gehen, auch nach 12 Jahren in Kanada bin ich immernoch fasziniert von dem vielen Wasser. Ich gehe liebend gerne Kayak fahren, insofern es keine zu grosse Stroemung gibt.

I had no kids last week as they were on vacation with their aunt, and was profiting from the spare time to go kayaking with two of my friends. Even after 12 years in Canada I am still fascinated by the quantity of water everywhere here. I love to go kayaking as long as there is not too much current.

A Sonday afternoon at the lake

Neuer Hausbewohner - new inhabitant

Unser Sohn Gabriel liebt Froesche und wollte unbedingt einen Frosch haben, nachdem Froesche in einem Terrarium bis zu 25 Jahre lang leben koennen und mit lebenden Krillen gefuettert werden muessen, kam dass nicht in Frage.

Aber mein Kind ist ja schlau und hat gefragt ob man den Frosch nicht in mein Aquarium tun kann. Also hat sich die Mami schlau gemacht und den afrikanischen Zwergwasserfrosch gefunden, auf diese Weise hat Gabriel jetzt ein kleines Aquarium und drei kleine Wasserfroesche.

Sie sind total lustig, chillen immer in irgendeiner Ecke und fallen im warsten Sinne des Wortes auf die Nase wenn sie vom Luftholen zurueckkommen. Sehr witzig!

My son Gabriel loves frogs, when I found out that frogs in an terrarium can live up to 25 years and need to be fed with crickets, that was out of the question.

But my intelligent child asked if he cannot put a frog in one of my tanks, so I did some research and found the african darf frog that lives exclusively in the water. This way Gabriel has now 3 little water frogs in a small tank.

They always chill in one of the corners of the tank and land on their face when they come down from breathing air, funny to watch!

Im Freizeitpark - Amusement Parc

Im Juni sind wir mit den Kindern zum ersten Mal in einen Freizeitpark gegangen, Riesenrad und kleine Achterbahn gefahren, Kettenkarusell und mit einem alten Holzkarusel, aber am besten haben meinen zwei Lausern natuerlich die Autoscooter gefallen.

This June we did go for the first time to an amusement parc with our kids, we enjoyed many rides, the wooden carousel, the big wheel, a small roller coaster, but my boys liked the bumper car the best.

Fussballprofis- Soccer champions

Meine Kinder spielen dieses Jahr beide Fussball und haben sich so darauf gefreut dass sie ihr Fussballtrikot sogar zum schlafen anhaben, wahrscheinlich ein deutsches Erbe. ;-)

Both of my kids play soccer this year and were so excited that they are even sleeping with their soccer outfit, probably a German inheritance. ;-)

Der Garten im Mai-the yard in May

Mai und Juni sind die schoensten Gartenmonate in Kanada, es ist jedes Jahr eine Freude wie die Natur explodiert.

May and June are the most beautiful gardening months in Canada, I love how the nature explodes every year in May.

Kaulquappensuche-Tadpole hunt

Der Winter 2014-2015 war einer der kaeltesten Winter der jemals in Quebec aufgezeichnet worden ist. Wir fuehlen dass immernoch mit einem verspaeteten Fruehjahr, sind aber trotzdem froh dass wir im Mai viel Sonne und ein paar warme Tage hatten. Auch wenn es zu kalt zum baden war haben die Kinder am See gespielt und grosse Kaulquappen gesucht, die im Sommer zu riesigen Froeschen werden.

The winter 2014-2015 was one of the coldest winters ever registered in Quebec. We still feel this with a late spring, but we are happy that we had lots of sunshine and a couple of warm days
this may. Although too cold to go swimming the kits were playing at the lake looking for tadpoles, who will become giant frogs in summer.

Winterburg, Fun in the snow

Wir hatten einen extrem kalten Winter mit ungefair 4 Wochen -20 Grad, da waren die -9 am ersten Maerz geradezu eine Wohltat und die Familie hat davon profitiert und im Schnee gespielt.

We had an extreme cold Winter with almost a month long -20C, finally on March 1st -9C almost felt like summer. The whole profited from this warm weather and played in the snow.
