Evans vierter (4) Geburtstag

An Evan's vierten Geburtstag waren wir mit sechs kleinen Freunden im Zig Zag Zoo, einer grossen internen Kletterhalle fuer Kinder, leider hatte ich meinen Photoapparat vergessen. Aber man sieht, dass Evan viel Spass mit seinem Geburtstagsgeschenk einem neuen Fahrard hatte.

For Evan's fourth birthday we went with six little friends to the Zig Zag Zoo, unfortunately I forgot my camera...
But as you can see Evan hat lots of fun with his birthday gift, his first bike.

Unsere Hibiskusblueten im Garten waren mal wieder ein Traum in diesem Herbst.

Houston Houston we got a problem

In the beginning of August I was in Houston Texas for the international APCO trade show, I was amazed to see that nobody lives downtown and that the city becomes a real ghost town on week-ends.

Maybe the Texans should come and visit us here in Canada. :-)

Anfang August war ich in Houston Texas auf einer Messe. Es war gespenstisch zu sehen, dass niemand in der Innenstadt lebt und die Strassen ab 18 Uhr abends wie ausgestorben sind. Wie langweilig, vielleicht sollten die Texaner mal nach Kanada kommen. :-)

Besuch von der Oma aus Muenchen

In June- July we had Evan and Gabriel's grandma with us for 4 weeks. We enjoyed to have time to relax and do more activities than usual. Due to the hot humid wheater we went to the beach. Some nice pictures from that time....

Im Juni-Juli hatten die Kinder Besuch von ihrer Oma aus Muenchen. We haben es genossen Zeit zum Entspannen zu haben und mehr Aktivitaeten machen zu koennen, als sonst. Da es sehr heiss und schwuel war, waren wir oft beim Baden.

Kellerrenovierung, basement renovation

Im Juni hat die ganze Familie an der Erneurerung unseres Kellers gearbeitet. Evan, hat sich als Papa rechte Hand gezeigt und bewiesen, dass er fuer einen zukuenftigen Handwerker geschaffen ist. Wie ihr sehen koennt, kann sich das Ergebnis wirklich sehen lassen. Solltet Ihr uns besuchen wollen, nur zu jetzt haben wir Platz. :-)

In June this year the whole familiy renovated the basement. Evan has been dad's big helper and as you can see the result is really great. And just to let you know we have space now for guests. :-)

Gemaess kanadischer Tradition bekommen die Kleinen zum ersten Geburtstag einen Schokoladenkuchen , nachdem Gabriels Taufe einen Monat vorher stattfand haben wir das an diesem Tag gemacht.

According to a Canadian tradition the children get a choclate cake for their first birthday, as Gabriel's baptism has been one month before we did that on that day.

Our new magnolia tree

Wir haben ein neues Magnolienbaeumchen im Garten. Es heisst Sunsation und macht seinem Namen alle Ehre. Ich bin sehr gluecklich und freue mich schon darauf wenn es irgendwann seine volle Groesse von 7-8m erreicht.

We have a new magnolia tree in our yard, the variety is called sunsation, as you can see the name fits very well. I am very happy about this small tree and can not wait to see it one day fully grown at 7-8m.

Visit to the Ecomuseum

Am Osterwochenende haben wir als ganze Familie das Ecomuseum besucht. Das Ecomuseum ist ein kleiner Zoo indem nur einheimische Tiere ausgestellt werden. Es ist ein netter Familienausflug, nur eine halbe Stunde von unserem Haus entfernt. Auf den Photos koennt ihr ein Kaeuzchen, eine Schneeeule, einen Schneefuchs, Braunbaeren, Woelfe und wilde Truthaehne sehen.

At the Easter week-end we went to the Ecomuseum. The Ecomuseum is a small Zoo, showing the life and habitat of Canada's wild animals and is a nice small family excursion only 30 minutes away from our house.
